The federal Government has introduced an enticing rebate. The program offers up to a $1,350 tax credit for home owners who spend between $1000 and $10000 in renovations.
Time is running out, so take Advantage of this Government incentive by February 2010 and retain all invoices on file.
ELIGIBLE RENOVATIONS:
Kitchen, bathroom or basement Renovations
New carpet or hardwood floors
Building an addition, garage, deck, garden/storage shed, fence
Re-shingling roof
New Furnace, wood-stove, boiler, fireplace, water softener or water heater
A new driveway or resurfacing a driveway
Painting of interior or exterior of a house
Window coverings directly attached to the window frame and whose removal would alter the nature of the dwelling
Laying new sod
Permanent swimming pools - inground or above ground
Fixtures - lights, fans, etc
Associated costs, such as permits, professional services, equipment rentals and incidental expenses
Security systems - provided it is permanently installed and all other requirements of the program are met
NON-ELIGIBLE RENOVATIONS:
Furniture, appliances, audio/visual electronics
New tools
Carpet cleaning
House cleaning
Maintenace contracts - furnace cleaning, snow removal, lawn care, pool cleaning)
Financing costs
